Windowsill Ledger

Watering, light and repotting notes from a two-window apartment, mistakes included.

About

I keep about thirty plants in an apartment with two windows that face east and one that faces north, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about light I do not have. Most of them are the ordinary sort: a monstera that has outgrown two pots, a shelf of pothos cuttings, a fern that sulks, a few succulents on the brightest sill.

These pages are where I record what I actually did and what happened afterward: when I watered, what the soil felt like, when a leaf yellowed and what I think caused it. I am not a horticulturist. I am someone with a moisture meter, a notebook and a stubborn fiddle-leaf fig.
